Course Objective:
On completion of this course, earners will be able to perform programmable logic controlling on automated control system.

The knowledge and abilities covered in this course include:
Knowledge:
- Understanding the advantages of PLCs over traditional control systems
- Exploring the design and operational characteristics of PLC systems
- Studying PLC information and communication techniques
- Examining the function of various electrical protective devices
- Emphasizing the importance of correctly sizing cables to meet safety requirements
- Learning programmable logic programming techniques
Abilities:
- Selecting appropriate control devices for automated control systems based on user requirements
- Configuring, programming, installing, and operating PLCs according to user specifications
- Testing and debugging controlled systems efficiently
For Whom:
Learners who have completed Perform PLC programming Part 1 or have prior PLC programming experience. They can be Line or Team Leaders, Technicians, Mechanics, Electricians, Supervisors and Engineers.
Pre-requisite:
Participants must have prior basic PLC programming experience or completed Perform PLC programming Part 1.
Entry Requirements:
Participants are assumed to:
- Have completed at least ‘N' Level and above or equivalent; or
- Have the ability of:
- Basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements;
- Follow written and oral work instructions;
- Listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5 High Intermediate (' N' Levels) and above; and
- Manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 5 High Intermediate (' N' Levels) and above.
Training Medium:
This course is conducted in English.
Training Methodology:
This course is delivered through lectures, group activities and demonstration.
Assessment Methodology:
Practical assessment is conducted at the end of the course.
Certification:
A Certificate of Proficiency will be awarded to trainees upon completing and passing the assessment. Otherwise, a Certificate of Participation will be issued to those who attained a minimum attendance of 75%..
