Synopsis:

In today’s rapidly evolving electronics, biotechnology, and precision engineering sectors, digital transformation is key. As part of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) initiatives, Augmented Reality (AR) is emerging as a critical technology to optimize productivity and efficiency across manufacturing operations, from design and prototyping to production and supply chain management.

This course provides an overview of immersive technology in the industry to prepare participants to embrace AR. Learners will gain the knowledge and skills to operate AR application software, enhancing efficiency in areas such as realtime factory planning, technical troubleshooting and repair, predictive and preventive equipment maintenance, effective safety and technical training, and quality assurance.

    Objective:

    Upon completion of this course, learners will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively operate and perform tasks within an Augmented Reality (AR) application, applying AR tools and technology in the workplace.

    For Whom:

    Suitable for professionals from various industries interested in exploring and utilizing XR technology, as well as individuals at the beginner level with little to no prior experience with XR technology.

    Entry Requirements:

    Learners are assumed to:
    • have a basic computer and digital literacy;
    • be able to follow written and oral work instructions;
    • be able to listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3 High Beginning (PSLE) and above; and;
    • be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to
      Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3 High Beginning (PSLE) and above.

    Essential Requirement:

    Participants are required to bring their personal laptop for the practical/hands-on practice.

    Training Medium:

    This course is conducted in English.

    Training Methodology:

    This course is delivered through e-learning, lectures, demonstration, selfreflection, group activities and peer practices.

    Assessment Methodology:

    Practical and written assessments are conducted at the end of the course.

    Certification:

    An individual who successfully complete the course and obtain competency in the assessments will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore and a Certificate of Participation from ELITC.
