Course Objective:
On completion of this module, learners will be able to resolve issues and customer complaints using the systematic “8 Disciplines” problem solving approach and using the “8 Disciplines” format in the reporting of the issue with appropriate short term and long-term solutions to rectify the issue.

Master the "8 Disciplines" problem-solving approach for effective issue resolution.

Develop skills in defining problems quantitatively and implementing interim containment actions.

Learn to identify and validate root causes and select appropriate corrective actions.

Gain proficiency in implementing permanent solutions and establishing standardization to prevent recurrence.

Understand the core components, process flow, and reporting format of the "8 Disciplines" methodology.

Acquire knowledge on effective corrective actions and implementing controls for sustainable solutions.

Suitable for Engineers, Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) and individuals involved in problem-solving, quality control, process improvement, and technical roles.
Entry Requirements:
Learners are assumed to:

Have an open mind;

Be able to approach issues through team efforts;

Have a basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements;

Be able to listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6 Advanced ('O' Levels) and above; and
-
Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 6 Advanced ('O' Levels) and above.
Essential Requirement:
Learners are required to bring their personal laptop for the work assignment.

This module is conducted in English.
Training Methodology:
This module is delivered through e-learning, lectures, group activities and demonstration.
Assessment Methodology:
The assessment is conducted through oral/written assessment, work assignment and presentation.
Certification:
An individual who successfully complete the course and obtain competency in the assessments will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore and a Certificate of Participation from ELITC.
