Synopsis:

This program is designed as a two-day training and assessment program specifically for foreign workers who have no prior knowledge and skills. Its purpose is to prepare them for taking the Integrated Assessment Pathway of Certificate in Generic Manufacturing Skills (Integration).

The training will cover five modules, and at the end of each module, an assessment will be conducted to evaluate the participants’ competency. The CGMITA program offers a faster pathway for skills upgrading and provides a nationally recognized qualification.

Upon successful completion of CGMITA, foreign workers in the Manufacturing sector will be eligible to upgrade their current R2 Work Permit to an R1 Work Permit.

 

 

Course Objective:

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Carry out “5S” procedures in the work area to maintain the standards and discipline as part of continuous improvement processes
  • Apply quality procedures when carrying out daily work to meet quality system requirements as well as maintaining and improving work quality
  • Work as a team and participate in team activities in their work area
  • Execute tasks using hand tools and equipment correctly
  • Perform the measurement tasks accurately by operating the electrical measurement devices correctly

  • Achieve Continuous Improvement Process through 5S implementation

For Whom:

Suitable for foreign workers at the operational level who new hires in the manufacturing sector, as well as fresh graduates.

Entry Requirements:

Candidates are assumed to:

  • Should have basic knowledge of maths and statistics;
  • Be able to listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3 Higher Beginning (PSLE) and above; and
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3 Higher Beginning (PSLE) and above.
