This module is one of the elective units in all sectors and functional areas of manufacturing industry. It specifies the skills and knowledge required by people to supervise work processes improvement in their workplaces.

On completion of this module, learners will acquire the required competencies to supervise work processes improvement in their workplaces. 

1. Plan work improvement activities

2. Implement work improvement processes

3. Standardise improved work processes

Practical and oral/written assessments are conducted at the end of the training module. 

Participants for this module are required to handle an improvement project at their workplace. About 2 weeks after their classroom training, they are required to present their project report on work process improvement activities at workplace for assessment.

Supervisors working in the workshop or in the manufacturing industry

After successful completion and assessment of the module, participant will be awarded Statement of Attainment (SOA)

- Able to supervise work teams;

- Have presentation skills;

- Have basic knowledge of quality control systems;

- Have basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements;

- Able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS Level 5; and

-  Able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS Level 5
