GENERIC MANUFACTURING SKILLS WORKFORCE SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS (GMS WSQ) CERTIFICATE IN GENERIC MANUFACTURING SKILLS (INTEGRATION)
Programme Objective The Generic Manufacturing Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (GMS WSQ) is a national continuing education and training system designed for adult workers, jointly developed by the industry and Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), to determine the cross-cutting generic skills required by the Manufacturing Industry. It aims to support and facilitate specialized training and skills development to enhance the workforce, which will lead to an increase in the industry's overall competitiveness and productivity. ELITC is an Approved Training Organisation of the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications System. In July 2008, ELITC launched the Certificate in Generic Manufacturing Skills - Integration (CGM-I) for skills upgrading and career advancement of adult workforce.
Course Details The course modules comprise the following: Level 2 Units: Level 3 Units: CU1, CU2 and CU3 are 3 common modules at Level 2 of CGM. Level 2 CGM comprises of modules which are generic across all clusters of manufacturing skills, viz. Precision, Process, Integration (electronics included in this cluster), and Logistics.
At Level 3 of CGM, CU4 and CU5 are elective modules specific to the Integration cluster.
Target Group
Modes of Implementation IAT is a faster pace of training for workers who already have some prior knowledge and skills. At the end of the training, they will be assessed whether they are competent in all 5 modules in one sitting to be awarded the Certificate in Generic Manufacturing Skills - Integration from WDA.

TAP is a modular format of training. There are 5 selected modules (or course units) in CGM-I. The trainee must complete training and be assessed competent in all 5 modules of CGM-I in the Training and Assessment Pathway to be awarded this certificate from WDA. For each module successfully completed, the trainee will receive Statement of Attainment (SOA) from WDA. (For information on TAP registration, please refer to Annex E).
AOP is for workers who possess relevant prior experience and skills and only need to certify their skills. This route bypasses the full modular training. However, candidates must first take a Screening Test to assess whether they have the basic knowledge to handle the tools and equipment. If the candidates pass the Screening Test, then they are required to attend a 1-day Pre-Assessment Training (PAT).

Careers in the Electronics Manufacturing Industry Upon completion of training programme, trainees/workers may progress to various sectors in the Electronics Manufacturing Industry to take up job positions such as Technicians, Operators and Manufacturing Specialist.
Promotional Discount Discount of 50% of fees for Level 3 modules, CU4 and CU5, is offered to companies with at least 15 trainees in any single batch. This offer is now extended for the whole of 2009 or until further notice.
