Manage Quality System and Processes

Manage Quality System and Processes is one of the core units in all sectors and functional areas of manufacturing industry. It specifies the skills and knowledge required by people to manage quality system and processes in the workplaces.

 

 

 

 

Course Objective

On completion of this course, learners will be familiar with the national and/or international standards on quality management and quality services adopted by organizations, as well as acquire the knowledge and skills in managing customer expectations, monitoring the cost of quality and ensuring work processes are streamlined through use of statistical techniques.

 

 

Course Outline
  1. Determine the quality system requirements at the workplace based on the adopted national/international quality standards.

  2. Collating the customer's expectations on quality aspects of products/services in accordance with organisational established dimensions of quality.

  3. Applying appropriate means to communicate the customer's expectations on quality aspects of products/services to relevant stakeholders within the organisation for decision-making.

  4. Performing statistical evaluation on the work processes related to products/services quality performance using appropriate measurement and statistical analysis and disseminate the outcomes to relevant stakeholders within the organisation for decision-making.

  5. Conducting costs of quality analysis related to the products/services and identify areas for improvement in accordance with organisational quality system requirements.

  6. Planning quality cost saving/improvement activities to manage costs of quality at the workplace.

  7. Leading and managing co-workers/staff to achieve the desired results on costs of quality at the workplace.

  8. Tracking the quality performance of the products/services in accordance with organisational quality system requirements.

  9. Resolving issues associated with non-conformance of quality.

  10. Preparing reports on quality performance of the products/services to fulfill the quality system requirements.

 

Course Assessment

Written assessment, mini project or work assignment.

 

For Whom Executives working in the shop floor or manufacturing environment in the manufacturing industry.

 

 

Duration

40 hours

 

 

Certification After successful completion and assessment of the course, participant will be awarded Statement of Attainment (SOA)

 

Assumed Skills & Knowledge

- Have an in depth knowledge of their organisational products/services;

- Have presentation skills;

- Have basic statistical knowledge;

- Have basic knowledge of quality control systems;

- Have basic knowledge of quality metrology; 

- Be able to apply effective leadership skills in managing and leading co-workers;

- Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System 

  (ESS) level 8;

- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 8; and

- have basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements.
