Apply Project Management Skills

Apply Project Management Skills provides learners the opportunity to apply, demonstrate and practise the knowledge and skills learnt on applying the project management skills through classroom and practical sessions.

 

 

 

 

Course Objective

On completion of this course, learners will acquire the knowledge and skills to achieve successful completion of specific project goals and objectives by a specific time, within budget and according to specifications. It involves managing the phases of project life cycle that includes initiating, planning, execution, controlling and monitoring, and closing. 

 

 

Course Outline
  1. Define the scope of the project to be undertaken in consultation with stakeholders to meet the organisational needs or objectives.

  2. Conducting feasibility analysis of undertaking the project and present to stakeholders for decision making in accordance with organisational procedures.

  3. Developing the project plan and provide estimates of the necessary human resources, time and cost using appropriate project management tools.

  4. Executing the project implementation activities and control the resources to achieve the desired project goals or deliverables.

  5. Reviewing the milestones of the project and resolve any unmet goals or gaps when needed to meet the scope of the project defined.

  6. Concluding the project in consultant with stakeholders and with complete project documentation in accordance with organisational procedures.

Course Assessment

Written assessment, mini project or work assignment.

 

For Whom Executives working in the shop floor or manufacturing environment in the manufacturing industry.

 

 

Duration

32 hours

 

 

Certification After successful completion and assessment of the course, participant will be awarded Statement of Attainment (SOA)

 

Assumed Skills & Knowledge

- Have an in depth knowledge of their organisational products/services;

- Have good presentation skills;

- Be proficient in using project scheduling software (eg. Microsoft Project or equivalent);

- Be able to apply effective communication and leadership skills in leading and managing project members at 

  a proficiency level equivalent to the Communication and Relationship Management (ESS) at supervisory level;

- Be able to apply effective problem-solving and decision-making skills at a proficiency level equivalent to the 

  Problem-solving and Decision Making Skills (ESS) at supervisory level; 

- Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills 

  System (ESS) level 8; and

- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 8.
