Apply Management Level Planning Skills is one of the core units in all sectors and functional areas of manufacturing industry. It specifies the skills and knowledge required by people to apply management level planning skills in the workplaces. 

 

 

 

 

Course Objective

On completion of this course, learners will acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills on planning process that includes working with different types of plans, using different approaches to planning and how to plan effectively.

 

 

Course Outline
  1. Translating organisational objectives into functional goals to achieve the organisational operational plans.

  2. Evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the present situations in terms of being able to meet the defined functional goals.

  3. Developing viable action plans taking into consideration the identified strengths and weaknesses of present situations and constraint of resources to achieve the defined functional goals.

  4. Planning for contingency against anticipated problems or events that could hinder the progress towards the organisational objectives.

  5. Presenting the planning outcomes coherently to management for approval.

Course Assessment

Written/oral assessment, mini project or work assignment.

Duration

15 hours

 

 

Certification After successful completion and assessment of the course, participant will be awarded Statement of Attainment (SOA)

 

Assumed Skills & Knowledge

- Have in depth knowledge of their organisational work processes;

- Have good presentation skills;

- Be able to apply effective communication and leadership skills in leading and managing members at a 

  proficiency level equivalent to the Communication and Relationship Management (ESS) at supervisory level;

- Be able to apply effective problem-solving and decision-making skills at a proficiency level equivalent to the 

  Problem-solving and Decision Making Skills (ESS) at supervisory level; 

- Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills 

  System (ESS) level 8; and

- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 8.
